About Us

Hi families, I'm so excited to share my story with you!

Growing up in Los Angeles, I was an oldest of 3 sisters, and spent my time learning piano, some tae kwon do, and art lessons. At home, you'd see me dragging around World Book encyclopedias and reading about anything and everything (this was before Wikipedia, ipads and google).

I'd rally up the kids in the neighborhood to do dance competitions or "soul trains" in our living room, have bike races outside,

and go looking for wildlife in our garden.

I was a fun-loving and outgoing learner, and looked forward to seeing and exploring more of the world as I got older.

As a kid, I spent most of my summers visiting Korea or swimming for hours a day with neighborhood  kids and reading.

As I got older, I volunteered at summer kids' programs, leading activities, classes, dances, face painting and games. I loved seeing little kids come out of their shell and experience excitement and joy with their new friends.

In my youth & college years, I had some amazing mentors and leaders who poured into me, and so I later became a campus club President at my university, and started a collaboration with other leaders to do campus-wide awareness rallies on justice issues. We raised money for global development and spoke at an organization that was inspired to start a non-profit to rescue children from poverty.

I also started creating my own curriculum

and speaking on topics such as leadership development, womens' & girls' empowerment & global issues at local organizations to empower and equip young people to change their cities and the world.

I worked in non-profit organizations that did community development, and also served as a Youth Director and an interim Childrens' Director in Oregon.

During those years, I was also able to travel to Haiti, Brasil, Dominican Republic, and Mexico for int'l development projects where we trekked through mud and rain in the Amazon jungles with doctors and translators to serve unreached people groups with medical services, and to do childrens' programs. It was both exciting and exhausting, heartbreaking and inspiring, and deepened my love of activating and empowering people and cultures.

After traveling the world, I realized that investing in children was a key to investing into the health & vitality of communities,

our futures, and inevitably, the world.

And so I decided to open my own school, and  to gain some experience while building.

While teaching, my husband & I did tons of renovations to update the space to make sure that the indoor and outdoor spaces are safe, secure and exceed coding standards to become licensed.

And in the meantime, I've been teaching as a Preschool teacher since October of 2018,

and have worked in 5 different classrooms in 3 different cities to learn the best of the best of methodology & curriculum, as well as to fine tune my own teaching style.

During that time, I also decided that I'd incorporate Spanish language learning,

Yoga & Stretching as part of our daily activities, as well as Emotional Intelligence training to help raise up well-rounded children.

It's been such a joy to see my different classes of students learn and grow, have those lightbulb & "AHA!" moments, and be well on their way to hit the ground running for Kindergarten and one day,

take on the world!

Oliver is my husband, my BFF, and my Renaissance man!

He's done Martials Arts, dance- hip hop, ballet, jazz, contemporary, he's been in the Air Force, done theatre and choir, and does professional photography for dance events for premiere dance studios, as well as for an organization serving kids and adults with disabilities.

When I met Oliver, it was like a match made in heaven. I was lucky enough to find someone who I can geek out with about superhero & Disney movies!

Oliver is the 2nd oldest in a family of 5 siblings, and during the holidays we enjoy the tradition of wearing onesies of our favorite animated/ holiday heroes.

We've both lived in Los Angeles as well, so whenever we visit LA, we put on some mouse ears and go to Disneyland!
